Welcome to our very first blog, kicking off the launch of our new website 4FeetBigWorld!

We developed this site to share our love and excitement for travel, food, and drink. Having recently retired, we are moving into a new lifestyle of longer term travel and wanted to create a place where we could best share our experiences as we head down this new path.

Our trips have always generated a certain degree of intrigue. As we transition from “holiday travel” to this new “travel lifestyle” we are finding interest from friends, family, and even strangers to be growing. This is where the idea of creating this website took hold.

It was always a challenge to answer “how was your trip” in a 5 minute conversation or social post. Inevitably, those conversations would fuel so many other questions about where, what, when, how? We’re hoping 4FeetBigWorld allows us to help you get excited about travel and provides more information on these amazing places and experiences on this big blue ball of ours. We will be blogging regularly to share our latest adventures in travel, food, drink, and other things that inspire us as we wander locally and abroad.

To kick off the site we have posted a number of photo albums highlighting a few of our travel adventures over the past 16 years. Prior to that we were actually carrying around bags of film. Perhaps one day we will have those years digitized and added to the Adventure Album. At the very least it will provide some laughs given the hair and clothing choices from that era.

Our current plan is to be home in Canada 6 months out of the year and travelling abroad the other 6. In Canada, we have our family, incredible friends, and are actively involved in our local golfing community. So, in addition to our adventures abroad we will be posting some of our favourite things to do, eat, drink, and see in Ontario and elsewhere in this great country.

Although we have done our share of budget and luxury travel over the years, the niche we found we excel at and enjoy the most is the in-between. That magical mix of outstanding experiences at a reasonable cost.
